If you have the card connected to the computer via USB you will only see the USB tranfer rate. This card is much faster. Looks like you have it connected via a USB 2 port.

I believe class 10 is a minimum of 10MB/s and I don't think there is any classification above class 10 currently. So anything above 10MB/s , even if it's 100MB/s is still considered class 10.

Class 1-10 is for SDHC, which requires the minimum write speed. For the newer cards, I think they use the UHS-1 standard.

The 5d3 does not utilize the faster SD cards. It does for CF though.
