I don't think it can connect to a z-wave network. However, you can connect it to a computer with a z-wave usb module. Or, even better, a raspberry pi with a z-wave module.

I bought this unit a year ago for $100 for our beach house. I can raise the temp. 2 hours before we get there and it's perfect when we arrive. Reverse in summer. Pretty easy to install and it works...

Had this thermo for several years now. Never had a problem with it. Hard to program? It's one of the easiest... as you can simply use any web browser to access the device (via WiFi) and program it....

Just use any old wall-wart 24v AC adapter (instructions say lesser AC or DC voltages will work, but they are not powerful enough for good steady power to unit).
