If you want to do 4 monitors with 2 desktops you can control them both with synergy. Its pretty awesome and runs off your internet connection. I only have 2 now, 4 was overkill haha.

Both cards are overkill for what you're doing. But yes, 770 and the R9 can play the games like skyrim max settings, get whatever you think will be the better deal (can't do research on my part atm...
