You could if you want make the Onedrive folder your only folder you can choose any folder to mirror, However I would recommend keeping data separate from the syncing folder for obvious security...

Just need to be patient. I have a 25GB account, installed app a few days ago and enabled camera roll. 3GB just showed up today.
