It's worth it. The latest expansion for it (included in this pack) came out in 2013 and added a lot of new content. Better deal than Beyond Earth I would say.

as much as i want to go against my better judgement and buy beyond earth it keeps telling me I have to verify my playfire account, and I don't think I have one.

Beyond Earth will be $10 any day now. Just hang in there. I'm a big Civ fan and I found it to be a big disappointment. Maybe some DLC or user mods eventually will help it out.

Also received the same error message on combining the two discounts at checkout; copy and pasted my checkout URL from Chrome to Firefox and both discounts worked.

That normally isn't allowed on GMG. You can only use either the code or credit. The best place to use credit is on the VIP section since those are already discounted.
