I have the Greenlee it has worked for years without fail, of course these days it pretty much just sits in my tool box waiting patiently for me to break it out again.

I just bought one on amazon for $25. It works ok, but when im at my patch panel I can hear the tone from multiple ports away... its kinda crappy and hard to pinpoint where the tone is coming from....

That's not bad, much better quality than the crappy harbor freight one (~$22), which has a retarded probe and finicky switch on the generator likely to deplete the battery.
