Plasma's are PERFECT home theater TV's but just too dim for those of us who have bright rooms.. My friend still has a Panasonic plasma, and they're great but you have to keep the room dim to really...

Like I've said. I had and used a couple of JS's. They are very good for an LED. Have you ever owned a ZT60S, VT60 or a F8500? They are in a different league. Those three plasmas are a closer...

Ya, the KS8000 is 98% as good as the 9000, with the same contrast ratio for quite a bit less.... and yep, the active dimming is a joke on an edge lit, but when you have contrast ratios that high then...

The K series just came out. Ok, finally LED might be in striking distance of my ZT60. Supposedly it has issues with motion blur and local dimming still isn't great. Many say it's not worth upgrading...

I believe you, the JS9000 has only a 3695:1 native contrast while the new 2016 KS9000 is 6800:1, a BIG difference... I think it's once you get above 5000:1 you would be more inclined to find...

Just so you know on the 400u and 420u you can't change the backlighting.

Not really true. I buy and sell TV's as a hobby. I keep and try many TV's. I decided a couple of months ago to give the highly rated JS9000 a try and see if it would be worthy or replacing my ZT60 in...

ugh.. I would love the size difference but I am not prepared to pay for OLED at this point, although thought that might be the only real option for quality when coming from plasma.. RIP in Panasonic...

i currently have a 50 inch 2010 G Series Panasonic Plasma, I would love to upgrade to a 55 for the additional screen size. To be honest I am a bit concerned about making the jump from Plasma to...

Thanks for posting this. So basically, as WE KNOW, there isn't a ton of 4k content around yet, and there is even less 4k content that is HDR. But looks like it will be cool in the future.

I think plasma owners will be surprised by how far LED-LCD's have come... even cheap units have decent black levels and those with good active dimming would probably REALLY impress you... You'd...

Also remember that it needs to be HDCP 2.2 compliant, no way an "older" unit will have that... I'd just run the TV's optical out to the receiver for sound at that point, 4K HDMI switching isn't gonna...

I wish there was going to 70" in the P series this year but there won't, sadly, just 65" and 75". :( But, the new M series will have 70", I wonder if the 64 zones of active dimming will be enough...

Depends on what you mean by "older". Just check if your receiver has 4k passthru. If its 10 years old, chances are it probably can't do 4k. If the receiver is 5 years old or newer, it might be...
