The Purolator Synthetic filters suffered NO tears (or at least I couldn't find any pics of one) and those are the ones I use.

That's exactly right. I've used Super Tech oil,filters and transmission fluid in my @001 Jeep Cherokee. It's a spare car for our beach house, surf fishing, surfing, etc... 238,000 and it runs great...

Cmon people, it's a 75 cents oil filter. If money is no issue or you have a track car you need to maintain then of course you have to choose the best. My other car is a bmw and I tend to buy better...

i have to find a link that tested all the major brands.
fram was total crap in regards ti filtering capacity and should be avoided.
basic purolator was also pretty low end, but the purolator one...
