The Purolator Synthetic filters suffered NO tears (or at least I couldn't find any pics of one) and those are the ones I use.

That's exactly right. I've used Super Tech oil,filters and transmission fluid in my @001 Jeep Cherokee. It's a spare car for our beach house, surf fishing, surfing, etc... 238,000 and it runs great...
