HDMI costs some 40¢/port or $10,000/yr product line (and another $10,000 for HDCP). It's a big cost savings to omit it, especially if you already include an equivalent port already (i.e. DisplayPort).

Good price for ATX z170 board. No HDMI though, so if needed you'd need to buy a DVI to HDMI adapter, making the price less good. Has DisplayPort though which some might prefer. Still gets a thumbs...
