Back of the package says 9V battery required, not included. At this selling price, an included 9V battery would be 20% of the cost. The upgraded, autoranging Craftsman multimeter uses 2x AAA...

$1.40 with surprise points. Cheap enough and UL listed. Anything without a NIST traceable calibration certificate I'll take with a few grains of salt. Last time I used a HF meter in my car the...

I needed a multimeter and was able to pick this up for free with the redemption of 9990 surprise SYWR points. I'm glad I saw this. I didn't even know I had surprise points.

This looks pretty good, but the markings seem kind of weird to me. For example, it looks like the 9 o'clock to 12 o-clock range is for VDC, while the 1 o'clock to 2 o'clock is for VAC, but both are...

Exactly right! Showing yet again that having the tools is only part of what you need. Knowing some basic physics and how things work will let you use them properly. Back to the original guy, and...

Here's a great video showing (destructive level) testing of a Fluke multimeter and then another (Harbor Freight) meter. Definitely give you pause about using one of those Harbor Freight free meters...

Have two of these myself, I keep one at work and one in my car. Its not as nice as my flukes, but way better than the HF freebies. Have yet to have one give me any problems and I use the one at work...

This Craftsman meter was $8 earlier this year. Odd that the price has inflated 20% since then and it's now front page. Junk meters must be in big demand.

This instrument is very accurate and performs fine. One thing I've trouble with before is knowing where to put what plug, but on this meter it lights up where you need to put the plug; very handy!
