I can only say that FFIV and Chrono Trigger are classics, and that if I did not already have the ability to play these games on my phone I would consider buying a DS just to play them again.

FF4 is an incredible remake of the game. It is really the only reason I keep the DS around. For what it's worth, it is probably very different than what you have on your phone, as it is a full remake, not just a port.

This may seem like a stupid question to some, but I haven't yet bought into any DS systems and am eyeing the 3DS now that the price has dropped.

Will the 3DS play any DS game, including these? I realize they won't be in 3D, of course, but is it fully backwards compatible with all DS titles?

Chrono Trigger is a classic and rare gem that was released on SNES. One of the best RPG ever made with multiple paths and endings

Chrono Trigger for the DS added 2 new worlds, new ending, and added a more accurate translation. It was really fun to play, although my hands got a bit cramped

The DS Lite was fun to play on because of all the added content. Although, if you don't have a DS, you can always find the SNES ROM or Play Station release.
