ROKU USERS: If you want your rental to last longer than 48 hours after purchasing, you must order it through Amazon's website. That way, your rental will expire as usual (24-60 days), rather than the 48 hour window because of ordering through the Roku. You will still be able to view your movie on the Roku, and it will expire when the rental period is up, or 48 hours after viewing it.

I made a number of DVD/ BLU-RAY purchases over the last month that came with those free $5/$3 credits towards Amazon Instant Videos....most expire in the next 30-60 days.

However, looking today they have a lot of relatively new titles available for rent for $0.99...and once you "rent it", you don't have to start the rental period for another month.

I've noticed that if your connection is fast enough, the "SD" pretty much looks HD enough. I can't see an HD version being that much better, IMO. It also looks fine on my computer monitor, where it would be glaringly obvious if it weren't HD.

You usually get 25 days to start watching. Once you start, you usually have 48 hrs to finish it.
