Steam's daily deal of the day is....
Be sure to enter their wishlist giveaway while you're at it! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ALTERNATIVELY: Same price @ Amazon + $5 promo + Steam Activation [amazon.com]

This can and should be used by you to post updated deal information. Be sure to read this because it may contain answers to your questions!
Once you download the full game from Amazon, you will see a setup. When you run setup, it will automatically take you to steam and enter the CD key. You will not have to download it again. Steam will install it, followed by patches (about 200 mb) and you will be done.
Once again, this is a steam version of the game. It is not the retail version. ^^^ No need, just go to www.amazon.com/yourgames and the game + key should show up there. Take that key and activate it on Steam and use steam to download the game instead

Steam's Daily Deal - get it while its hot. Good deal for this excellent game.
General Knox is fantastic and well worth the $7.50 alone. Zombie Island is a little short and sort of tedious (collect 400+ brains is a pain). Claptrap Revolution was a little tedious as well but fun and hilarious. The Underdome is worth having for the banking, but it is kind of a pain going through all the fights.
Overall, everything together for $7.50 was the best gaming buy I've had since I purchased the Orange Box. I've gotten 90 hours out of the game.
i hope the borderland II is going to be as funny and stupid as it has been

That allows you mod your game saves. Also, FYI you might want to disable Steam's cloud saves, as I had it on and lost a bunch of progress a couple times.
Regardless, no matter which service you use to buy the game, it's a hell of a deal for that GOTY. The Knox and Zombie DLCs are great and easily make it worth spending the extra $2.50 over the price of the vanilla game.
edit nvm got it to work. wewt
