4-pack Duracell StayCharged Rechargeable AA Batteries $7.50 (expired)

Great find! I just wish I could get 1.50 off each pack. So I just bought one instead of four.

There seems to be a few versions of these floating around. I got some earlier this month, I will see which ones I got when I get home. Nice deal though.

The Duracell pre-charged are no longer the Japanese-made rebranded Eneloops, if that matters to anyone. If memory serves, they are now rebranded Chinese-made Rayovacs, which are decent, but they are no Eneloop.

I was looking at these batteries at Kroger the other day and the packing was completely different than the ones I got from Amazon. IIRC, they had the white tops too. However, the price was $13.xx. I might have to check them out again.

Any good? After getting burned by now useless NIMH Rayovacs and Energizers I switched to Eneloops. But they are a little more expensive.

I have a bag of dead Rayovacs and Energizers that I need to dump off for recycling.

Yeah, the last pack I got from Amazon were not the rebranded Eneloops, but you should also be aware that the rebranded Eneloops (white tops) you saw in store may be several years old by now (sorry, I forget when they switched production). If that's the case, it's long enough that the battery's performance can start to suffer.

Even the black top Duracell Pre-Charged are very decent, though they don't see very heavy usage with me, mainly for video game controllers. Even so, my experience with them has been pretty positive.

From my experience, precharged Duracells still come in "white" (Eneloop) and "black" (Rayovac) topped varieties. In fact, the last few packs that I bought from Amazon over the last few months were all white tops. I assume Amazon has extremely high sales volume and doesn't keep old stock around.

That being said, Rayovac Hybrids are virtually identical to Eneloops with regards to performance. There are some fringe cases where Eneloops slightly outperform the Rayovacs, but if you're the kind of person that cares about this kind of thing, you're likely to have a stash of Eneloops anyway.

The last batch of these I purchased were the white top/japan made eneloop's , but that was about 4 months ago .

Ah, I thought they shifted production from Eneloop to Rayovac, but I guess they are dually supplied now? In any event, agreed, the performance is very similar.
