The micros have been $150 a lot at newegg. I think that deal to get them alone & then pick your own sub was better. For the extra $150, I personally wouldn't get C10. Not only not quite what I'm personally looking for, but based on a quick search here as SD I see that it sold for $130 last year (and that deal only got a few thumbs up).

But yeah, if the C10 (or something like it) is what you would get anyway, this is a pretty good deal, not the lowest cost you could have ever gotten this set for, but close, and you can get it all at once.

This is a good deal. I was able to get the RC Micros for $150 and the Energy ESW-C8 sub for $100 last year, but this deal with the 10" sub is pretty darn good.

It only goes to 30 hz??? I have a sub that goes lower than that but I hava the low pass filter on the amp "only" at 30 hz and it shakes my whole house!
Do you really think that 30 hz it's not low enough to pair it with a Energy RC Micro? c'mon!

It's very difficult to be worse than Bose. Bose product constantly receives the worst rating from Home Theater Magazine. Bose spent more money on advertising than any 3 speaker companies combined. The sound is always unnaturally bright. Anything produced by Energy will be a lot better than Bose.

The sub may be able to go to 30Hz but I suspect the usable low is about 40Hz. That's adequate for most setup. If you want 20Hz it will cost money.

This is a good deal, I paid $400 a few years ago with the Energy 8" sub, and it sounds excellent in a medium sized room.

Bose? This blows Bose away, blows and Bose go together quite well in a sentence.

What is the difference between these and the Energy Take Classic 5.1?

I currently have the Onkyo 809 paired with the Boston Accoustics MCS 160.

Is it worth an upgrade?

IMO, no.

Ditto the IMO, no,you probably have at least equal, possibly better, sound with the BA system from what I saw about them--this is conjecture only as I've not heard the BA's.
