Picked this up yesterday. Solid deal. I actually got it a day ahead of time. The sale started today, but the ad page was up yesterday. In fact, neither me nor the salesperson noticed the "prices valid from" blurb at the bottom until he printed out the PM. Still gave it to me.
Past rebates have been so-so. One came in a couple weeks, but the last one, which was sent to a PO box probably 30 miles at the most from my house took about a month and a half. It was for a Siig wireless keyboard.

Thanks. $33 shipped is a nice deal on 4GB of DDR2. I am always working on people's machines that still use DDR2. Now i need a nice price on 4GBx2 DDR2 Sodimm. :-)

My old Inspiron 530 needs a desperate upgrade. It's got 4 slots for RAM but each slot holds a max of 1gb (system total max is 4gb). This seems to be less expensive than just buying 1 gb sticks, believe it or not. It shouldn't be a problem to slap this in my computer, right? It just won't show 2gb, but 1 gb... I'm wondering if there are any ill effects other than that.

Should work fine, but you might want to check the manufacturers spec page first, just to be sure. 32 Bit versions of Windows won't be able to use all 6GB FYI.

They do not need to be the same capacity. For best results, use in pairs. Often the slots will be color coded by pairs. As long as your motherboard supports a 2GB module, you'll be fine. It will run with other RAM at the top speed of: 1) the slowest RAM in the system or 2) the max speed your motherboard is spec'd at. I hope that's clear. Smilie
