This is good information, thanks! Do we have any idea when Logitech will be announcing the new lineup? If recent history is any indication, they don't usually do a full refresh of all their remote at the same time.

I actually own a Harmony One and it's absolutely fantastic. I've owned it for 3 years without issue. Very good remote for complicated home theater setups

I already own a refurb H659 and the power off button on it has worn down. Its still useful because I repurposed another button to be the power off button.

I've done it with two of my remotes (Harmonies are ridiculous delicate, but yet I inexplicably keep on coming back for more) and both have been blacklisted from updates. I could continue using them with the existing programming, but the software refused to upload new programming, but with half of the buttons not working, it was pointless to try anyway. It may be on a case-by-case basis based on what the TS rep feels like doing, so perhaps this is a YMMV situation.

The Logitech CEO said a model line refresh is due "in the coming months." What that actually means is anyone's guess, but the CEO acknowledged that an update was overdue.

I'm not sure if there's been any other recent news. I haven't really been keeping up with these, as my Harmony One is currently working just fine.

They'll issue you a code for pretty much any Harmony that is out of warranty, so long as it hasn't been "used" for a discount before. You'll need to access the serial and model information on the sticker.

I got a 50% off coupon for an 880 with semi-non-responsive buttons, but gave the coupon away because I eventually a sweeter deal on a Harmony One. The day I received my Harmony One, the 880 died completely and stopped accepting a charge at all, so I never could verify the "blacklist" claim.

I initially thought it was just a battery that had finally gone after five years, but even replacing the battery with a new one didn't work to revive the unit. I think, in my case, they must have activated a remote kill switch on the device. Pretty high tech devices.

My 880 was about the same age and the IR transmitter died. The phone call was excruciatingly long but I got the discount in the end which I used it to buy a new Harmony One. Good luck!
