Drill
A drill, often shaped like a pistol, creates a circular torque only. This means that the drill will spin the drill bit at the end, but all downward force has to be applied by human muscle.
Impact Driver
An impact driver applies circular torque in impulses as it turns. The additional impact force can help when driving screws into hard materials
Hammer Drill
A hammer drill creates both circular torque, as well as a strong, downward force. This is achieved inside the impact driver with a spring-loaded mechanism not present in a drill driver.

My brother has a landscaping business and uses this impact all the time when he's working on his equipment and he says he's glad he bought it even at $100. Plus this deal comes with a free drill (a light duty one, but it'll make a good b-day present for someone).
For what it's worth, the impact has gotten a 4.5 out of 5 stars from 104 user reviews. The drill has also gotten a 4.5 out of 5 but it's only had 16 user reviews. Thanks again OP!

Edit: I just took a gander at that Dewalt deal from yesterday and it doesn't look too hot to me. It has the old style batteries (I thought that Dewalt was using Lithium Ion ones now). The drill also looks like just a standard drill (no hammerdrill). And if those are the standard flashlights that they've been using for a few years now, they suck (the bulbs go out any time you knock them around). The fluorescent craftsman ones are far superior. Dewalt cordless tools are a little more durable than craftsman cordless tools, but if you're just using it for around the house I doubt that you'll be dropping it off of ladders.
