Got the Dell listed here for my boss a couple of weeks ago, and I personally own the HP DM4-2191us which I'm 99% sure is the exact same form factor as the HP DM4-3050us. On the basis of the form factor alone I much prefer the HP - it's thinner, lighter, and sleeker looking. The Dell looks and feels clunky and is in fact about a 1/2 pound heavier. Other than that I enjoyed working with it (the Dell) and haven't heard a complaint from my boss (yet) about it. Not sure if the DM4-3050US is still available, but if you're on the fence and form-factor matters to you, you might want to take the above into consideration.

I agree! I have only owned 1 HP laptop and it went through 3 HDD's in two years before I finally got rid of it. Granted this was 10 years ago..... I have owned many Dells in the last 13 years and use them at work and never had issues with them. I now limit my searches to only dell PC's. Not saying that there aren't other good PC's out there, I've just had extremely good experiences time and time again with Dell.

I agree, just hard to try something else when you've had extremely good luck with a particular brand. I do have an HP Touchpad and like it, would like it even better if HP hadn't killed WebOS but that's a different conversation for a different board.

Not sure why this is a FP given it's worse in every way than the HP deal that many were claiming was not "Slick".

This might only be slick for folks w/o a MS Store in your state (aka without tax). Otherwise the HP is better in every way except for maybe brand expectations (depends on who you talk to).
