"I am extremely happy with my Hitachi cordless drill. I am a mechanic working in a fast paced shop. I need reliable tools and I have had no trouble with the daily use of my Hitachi drill I purchased from your on line site. I will be a repeat customer."
Here's a lowes article about the differences. The bottom line is that the'll both serve well, and for $58 with free shipping and two batteries, this seems like a great deal. Just batteries alone usually cost that much.

That or similar usually comes up every few weeks. Build quality feels better on the li-ion version. Ratcheting metal chuck on the li-ion, the hook is much easier to hang and feels more durable than the plastic on this one. I've used both versions fairly heavily for at least 6 months each, and the Li-ion is holding up better and is more comfortable to use. So, for the small additional amount, it is probably worth it to wait for the Li-ion deal to come up again, if you intend on using it regularly. For irregular or home use, the Ni-cd will be fine. I feel like durability of these tools is more brand dependent than battery technology.
Also, it may be a case of Phillips vs. Pozidrive screw heads. They look alike, but will slip if mismatched, see picture
