Innthese days, three years means big changes in technology!!
I had a friend with a Inspiron 11z (first gen) this is the second gen. Oddly the form factor is drastically different. It looks much more like the Insprion 1012, kind of wedge shaped.
Track pad is a bit small, no Macbook by any means, but it's okay I guess.
I am rocking 8GB of ram (2x 4gb sticks) in this machine FYI.

Sigh! Where exactly are you pulling those numbers out from? Intel's website says Quarter 2 of year 2010. I am seriously tired of seeing people spreading misinformation all over internet.

Of course this mindset only reflects a small percentage of people who either "have to" have access to the latest because of their work or those who just have the compulsion to "keep buying the latest and greatest" gadgets for play. The majority of average citizens and business could care less as long as things just work to access the internet and run Office. They "upgrade" only when it's absolutely necessary and three years isn't really that long. I work with many friends, clients and large businesses still running XP on P4's.
