The whole idea behind a small vac is portability, it would be a lot easier to use to clean a car or a small mess in the garage than a 12 or 16 gal monster vac. As for storage, are you wanting to store 12 gallons of dirt? Haha. Just empty the vac when you are done with your cleanup. This takes a whole lot less space to store than a full size vac.
I have a full size vac for large jobs, I will probably pick up one of these for small jobs.

If it was a price mistake, my HD store took advantage of it and allocated the entire front of the store with just the Rigid shop vac's and had a big sign with $20 price tag. And they were pushing the filter kits. In anycase, it probably happened on black friday 2010 or 2009 - is that the time you bought it and also which HD did you pick yours up from? I'm in CA. I think the year after that they had it for $49.

Wait I also remember the flyer saying it was $20. The reason I remembered it was that was because I finally threw it away after moving and looked at it before chucking it in the trash thinking "why did I keep this?"

In anycase, it's probably in the archive posting on sd!

Is a wet/dry vac something every household should have? Just trying to compile a list of things this can be used for to decide if I should jump on or not. Hmmm..

It was in the flyer (at least online) for $49.99, down from $79. When you added it to cart and checked out, it took another $29 off accidentally, making it $20 and change + tax.

I don't believe you can find it in the archives here because the thread ended up getting deleted. HD watches these sites and asks for removal of those types of threads. Remember the C&D for their BF ad last year? They were the only company that sent an official C&D to have it removed.
