never trust anything a walmart or bestbuy worker says.
they don't know shit, which is usually the case with minimum wage workers.
if you have a tractor or some other non-critical engine, I wouldn't hesitate to pour this in it.

On a more serious note, you can mix regular and synthetic all you want.
In fact you can mix synthetic 5W30 with regular 10W30 and get a synthetic blend that will behave somewhere in between the 2.

As long as the oil meets API specs (read the symbol on the back of the bottle) acceptable for the engine, it is good to go. This oil meets at least SM rating which is good for pretty much any production car today.
I'll try to remember to pick this up again next time I'm near a walmart.
