I have this card. Picked it up a few months ago when it was ~155 after rebate with Shogun 2, Deus Ex: HR, and Dirt 3. Sold my old graphics card, unloaded the two games I didn't want, subtracted the value of the game I did want, and all said ended up paying ~15 dollars for a nice upgrade. That's my story.

About the card, though: it's great. It runs much more quietly than my previous card (4870) even at full fan usage (which is a custom setting I have, not something that often happens). It also runs much cooler than other cards as well.

If you're looking for a good card, but not willing to pay up for a super 'top of the line' model, I suggest this card. I think I've run into one game that it hasn't been able to max at 1920x1200.

The site says exhaust airflow through the bracket plat at the back of the PC increases 30%. Its effectively fewer large holes versus the grill that is usually back there.

Since its exhaust, bigger hole aren't much of an issue for dirt and dust, but I could see where bugs could be happy but I assume that's rare considering the heat level unless you left it idle for long periods of time.

Glad someone mentioned waiting for the Double D to come down further yesterday! Got it, which means my build is pretty much complete

(Oh and also got a molex to 6-pin pci-e [newegg.com] adapter since mui43 pointed out yesterday that the card needs two pci-e connections, while your PSU may have only one. I'm sure it's probably a standard thing to remember, but since I'm new to building, I'm glad to have both of those coming on the same order.)

I own this card, it does a nice job overall, I guess with all computer enthusiasts though when you don't have the best you wish you did. The card runs well and plays all modern games at good settings.

hm, i jumped on the "Single D" yesterday and thats my second card for a Crossfire situation

anyone think its worth trading out to get the Double D for heat management?

This comes with the double lifetime warranty right?

Does anyone here actually have this card? Can you tell me how far the the two heat pipes stick out from the top of the card? I have a smaller case so not sure this card will fit.

I have this card and the heat pipes do stick out a little bit but not as much. Depending on how much space your case allows it might be a tight squeeze.

The game I kept was the newly released Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I tried a demo for Shogun 2: Total War and found it to be a less complex, more RTS-y and more Japanese Civilization.

Dirt 3....meh. I think I ended up giving it away, as it was around the time that those codes all leaked online, so they literally became worthless.
