good deal, but its 2012 and buying a "decent" video card means not only a fast GPU, but more than 1GB of RAM IMO. Many games ULTRA settings use over 1GB VRAM, so holding out for comparable GPU but more RAM

All versions of PCI-E x16 are backwards compatible. Video card won't run any differently in a 2.1 slot or 3.0 slot.

I ordered the single fan version for $130 AR earlier from Amazon and just canceled it for this one instead. $12 tax me but it's still a good deal considering it's only $22 minus Dirt 3 ($7 on ebay?) more than the single fan version. I think ~$15 more for dual fans is great because I already have one of these and it runs almost silent. Judging by how a lot of people complain about the terrible noise created by the single fan version, I'd rather not find out myself.

I would not worry about that as it should never get up that high on its own.

It this worth the upgrade over HD 6850? It's about 10% performance improvement for about 25% more money.
