Wow. Great deal!

Seems warm to me. I got a 40" 120hz LED LCD for a little less than this, and that was over a year ago. After all those amazon TCL 40" deals for $200-$260 over the holidays, it's hard to get excited about this one.

Not bad, seems to be about 10% off everyone else.

I'll go thumbs up because I personally would prefer buying a $400 name brand LCD over a $300 off-brand 120hz LED-LCD.

LED backlighting offers some nice perks when done properly, but cheap brands seem to just want to label the TV as "LED," to make the sets thinner, and generally not care much about bad backlighting. They just know "LED" is a buzzword that lets them price the TV 10% higher so in go the LED backlights and the masses of buzzword sheep flock to them. I can hear them coming, with their usual beliefs that you can compare televisions by reading the specs on the box and picking the one with the most "features".

"120Hz" is again another buzzword that lets them mark up the TV further without worrying about picture quality. When done well, the "120hz" effect can be cool, but most TVs warrant just turning it off.

I bought this as an open box from Best Buy a month ago for $350 (the new units were marked down to $399, but only had open box left in stock). I love this TV, but beware, it has ONLY optical out for sound, not even a headphone jack. As such, I can't use my Turtle Beach headset with it until I buy a digital/analog decoder, or get a new headset. This may not be a dealbreaker (it wasn't for me), but it definitely is a negative.

After a bit of googling, looks like I have the 40E210, which has no analog out, this unit appears to have it.

does anyone know how newegg delivers the tv's? Specifically, does one have to be home when it is delivered?

If only it were an LED

I own this TV and it is very nice. Colors are nice and the sound is decent. I am not 100% if this is a newer model than mine, but, the only complaint I have about mine is the TV stand.

For what it's worth...
The TV does not sit well in the stand (a fork-like attachment is screwed to the TV and then the two prongs from that attaachment are set into the base to hold it upright), it is pretty wobbly. I would recommend mounting it over using the stand.

I like this TV. Bought it year ago from amazon for around ~$400. Been pretty good so far.

I think deliveries for TV's under 42' are done by UPS/Fedex, well at least for Amazon. Would assume same goes for Newegg

I ordered it this morning and just received the UPS confirmation but it doesnt say anything about signature required...however, I ordered from Newegg before and a signature was required

I can't tell if this is a good deal or not D: im such a noob. My father wants a TV for his room about this size nothing big, that he can mount on his wall. Do you guys think for this price and whatnot the TV will do? All we'll be doing is connnecting a Blueray Player to Watch Netflix on it... thoughts? Thanks
