Microsoft Wireless Mouse 6000 with Bluetrack (White, Red or Purple): 1 for $18, 2 for $31 or 3 for $44

Been looking for a solid mouse for work for a few months and overall consensus seems to be positive. In for one.

This is a great mouse, I have been using one that I purchased with Staples Rewards.

I use it with my 13.3" and it is portable, it fits pretty snugly beside the trackpad. It has very good battery life (one AA every 2 months), easy to turn on and off, does not feel cheap and (for me) a very easy to use thumb and middle finger buttons.

Very hot at this price.

I've owned three of these mouses and I can say that there is one glaring problem with the mouse wheel. After a couple of months, the mouse wheel starts to become very sticky and hard to move. The only remedy when this occurs is to rip off the rubber covering around the mouse wheel. This "fix" will ensure the mouse wheel turns smoothly, but makes it also look ugly.

Otherwise, good battery life and a convenient size.

Hey, I have had this mouse for well over a year and about 4 months ago it was starting to really show use as I used it for gaming and for everyday use. Well all the chrome came off and the sides were almost completely worn down. So I decided to call up Microsoft and ask for a new one since these have a 3 year warranty. The guy said no problem, just give me the PID under the mouse so I gave it to him and he had one shipped out asap BRAND NEW IN PACKAGING! 39.99 value! So its like i got 2 for the price of one! And I got to chose the color of the new one they sent, so of course i chose black. I then called back and get a new sidewinder X3 because my X5 was so used up it wasnt even funny. but overall you can have unlimited mice for a one time fee! I highly recommend Microsoft products as they do honor warranty and they pay shipping to you and you get to keep the old mouse! SLICK DEAL !

just bought 3... 2 mouses in my office die today so i think its a good time to upgrade to wireless one... hope i won't regret it..

In for 3. Need one for travel, home (the purple would look nicer than my 10 yr old Logitech wireless mouse refurb off ebay), and one for a gift. Having a small receiver that stores in the mouse as well as an off button are features that I don't have now. And choosing the color without having to pay extra is a bonus. :-)

I don't know where the 8 months battery life comes from, but more likely it's half of that or less, depending on the usage. I use my laptop as a stationary computer daily and do not turn off the mouse switch when I'm not using since it has the auto-shut-off function.

Good price if you're buying more than one. These go for around $20 pretty commonly, so $18 for one isn't that special.

Gold colored one? You sure you're not talking about some other mouse? (gold mouse link?) I only see black, purple, white, and red. The Microsoft Mobile Mouse 6000 usually doesn't drop below around ~$20.

I have both this mouse and the Logitech Anywhere and the Logitech uses batteries much faster than the Microsoft. Other Logitechs in the house are much better with battery life, but the Anywhere uses batteries faster than any other mouse I've had.... just saying not all Logitechs have better battery life. Considering also that the MS 6000 only uses a single AA and the Logitech Anywhere still runs out faster with two AAs says a good bit about their designs. (I still like using the Logitech Anywhere better, it just really sucks batteries!)

EDIT: and the auto-off function isn't really off, if you really didn't know, just in low-power usage. If it was off, it couldn't tell when you're using it again. Only way to really stop it using batteries is to turn it off (I do when I shutdown.)

That or you can NOT use the mouse while eating and with sticky fingers! We've had two in the house for some time (though the older gets little use) and have had no problems with the scroll wheels sticking.

Me too!! I am lucky to get 6 weeks out of ToysRus batteries.
