good deal. same printer that was on sale for $20 at Walgreen's a couple of weeks ago. you should add that shipping is free with shoprunner.

Nice price. Lots of good reviews on Newegg. There's no catch tray, which is a bit of a bummer.
Does anyone know if these things come pre-loaded with ink?

Based on the reviews, it does come with ink. A few people said it's cheaper to just keep buying a new printer than to buy the refill cartridges for it.

In for one! My old Pixma MP160 is out of ink and I can't buy ink for it for $20!

Paying $20 for two ink cartridges, with or without a printer, is still overpriced. Therein lies the problem with multi-color cartridges. They carry very little ink, and must be replaced if any color goes out. So printers like this one get expensive REALLY quickly.

I recommend getting any of the Canon printers with independent color cartridges. The cartridges can be replaced cheaply with generics for $1 a cartridge, and recycled at $2 a cartridge at Staples. So ink is essentially less than free.

Only get this model if you never plan to use it.

What printer model are you referring to?

i got this from walgreens when it was on sale and for very little money, it's a good printer... i only print coupons on it, works great.
how much do you guys think these could be resold for if i remove the ink?

Cant we refill it ourselves? Or is it one of them whose chip cannot be reset?

Good question. But I never had good luck trying to reset chips. And refilling is messy. And $2 is more than $1, so recycling cartridges makes money.

also, can you give us an example of such a printer? Probably not a Cannon, right? I have an older pixma "all in one". It has a separate black and a multicolor cartridge. If anything is flagged as dry, nothing on the all in one works. YOU CAN'T EVEN SCAN!

Hate it... hate it.... hate it ...and now looking for a printer that is close to what you describe!

1) cheap
2) can take refilled cartridges
3) preferable does not loose all function if one color is out.

That is why an AIO isnt always the best option

I have a seperate faxmachine, and 2 scanner/ copiers.
The ink runs out on these quickly because all printers only come with whats called a 'starter' ink cartridge.

I love it when people complain how bad a printer is and how expensive this ink is.They save so much money on ink with what they have set up but then FAIL to tell anyone else what printer they use and where they get their $1 ink.

I get ink for my Canon MG5220 for about $6 for the 5 cartridges, they were actually $4.55 last time, at Amazon.

I bought one of these for a neighbor but cancelled the order when I saw ink prices. Better off to just pay more up front for a printer with seperate color cartidgres.
