Skydrive has been revamped and it is much better (similar to dropbox) but with *only* 7GB (used to be 25 GB) for new users. Early adopters can still claim up to 25 GB by logging in and clicking on the message at top.

Note that file size has been increased to 2GB (I think it was 300 MB earlier), which is same as dropbox.

Free 25gb currently only requires that you have an existing Windows Live account, (@hotmail.com, @live.com, @msn.com) despite what MS says. Many reports from people who have never used skydrive getting 25gb. Hurry and get it now while its like that. If you use live/hotmail for your own email account, reports are they are only getting the 7gb, but worth a try anyway since there's reports of edu email accounts getting it, and it takes like 15 seconds to check the upgrade)

Live Mesh "Skydrive Synced Storage" is not affected by this change and also continues to deliver virtually unlimited computer-to-computer synchronization.

This post details that you need MS silverlight installed to do more than 1 file at a time through the web interface.

You can still do arbitrary folders, you just have to make symbolic links/junctions. You can do it through the command line inside the skydrive folder such as:
mklink /J "Music" "../Music"
Which will add your music folder to it.

The MS skydrive app is NOT windows XP compatible, and will just give an error message when running the setup file. However, there may be ways to access skydrive by assigning a drive letter manually by following instructions in the previous link, or use the 3rd party utility below.
