This PSU is definitely NOT a gamble. Seasonic has yet to put out a dud in any of their lineups, including rebadged ones; as far as I know, they have never made a non-80PLUS, including before the certification became popular and another bragging point for manufacturers.

I have the S12-600; it is a dinosaur from 2006, but its silent, and right now it is running a machine with an i7-920 OCed to 4.1 ghz, a 4850 1gb, 4 HDDs, and an SSD.

I am not sure why anyone would say that, these are solid PSU's and run by many people.... They are Seasonic based units....

I actually own the same one and got it the last time a few months ago when it was $35AR. I bought this one to replace a somewhat noisy Corsair TX 650v2. These Neo Eco's are quite a bit quieter. I love mine so far, no issues.
