i can attest that this a great psu, esp for this rock bottom price. got it during bf for same price. runs crossfired 6870s and an oc'ed i5 2500k in bf3 for hours w/o bsod or issues. runs prime for 24 hrs + w/o issues. not sure why it was doa for some ppls, maybe an unfortunate batch, but i think the over hundred 5 stars are what u should be looking at . btw doesnt come with a power cable so be sure u have one lying around.

rebate was a little slow but excellent cust service. called them, someone picked up right away, personally checked with the rebate dept, and was kind enough to *actually* call back like he had promised with status update. about a day later got an email from rebate dept saying my check was on the way and apologized cuz they were bogged down due to bf.

Yes this more than sufficient for the build even if you decide to add a single power-hungry GPU down the road such as the GeForce GTX 570. This power supply might barely cut it for SLI as well but I wouldn't bet on it.

If this psu is indeed the same as the s12 from a few years ago. Then this thing is a beast and you guys need not question what it can really handle. I have had my s12 600W for about 6 to 7 years and it's still ticking and as silent as the day I purchased it. If any one could be considered abusing a power supply, that would be me. This thing has been through multiple systems with me from a Tyan k8we running sli to it's current task of supermanning a s4985( quad socket opteron main board ) fully loaded with 4 Opteron 8360se (quadcore 2.5 Ghz) for a total of 16 physical (not just logical but actual cores) 4 hard standard hard drives, 2 ssd's, Creative Xifi Platinum, Raid controller, 6 120mm case fans, 6 loaded usb ports (2 at the rear and then 4 in the front connectors) and get this a 7970 that I just purchased 2 weeks ago doing 5x1 eyefinity. I am not to sure what they are supposed to spec'ed at but using my kilowatt meter I draw anywhere from 800 to over 1000 watts depending on load and was drawing more before I retired my 5870 eyefinity 6 card for the 7970. I am not to sure what this thing can't do but what ever it is it has never let me down and has always protected my components (live in Orlando FL). I kept adding to the load and it keeps asking for more... Seasonic till I die!!!

sorry to revive a dead thread but for those who jumped in on this deal. it only has 1 pcie power line with a y adapter to make it two. is this safe to power a gpu requiring two 6 pin power connectors? i bought a msi 460 and im not sure if its safe to do this not because this psu cant handle it but whether or not the single cable can put out enough power as two seperate pcie 6 pin power connectors. thanks....
