Why is everyone all over this when the 7850 is equal to if not better then the 6950 and costs almost the same price it can be had for $30 more after rebate Newegg [newegg.com]?

Without a doubt it will work. As long as the series are the same (both 6900) you should be good to go.

I believe the response you will get is that the performance gain will not be worth it. I don't care, I have on of these and I gotta try it!!

Find a card that has double lifetime warranty then talk. $30 isn't even close to "almost" the same price. You forgot to note that you need to add in shipping (yea yea, free shoprunner shipping IF you have it) for YOUR link, while OP's post has free shipping as it stands.

Dang, I jumped on the 6870 XFX deal, and now this?! Is there a way to return stuff to Newegg without incurring their horrendous restocking fee?

Sorry you feel that way but for $30 with shoprunner or amazon [amazon.com] waiting for it to come back into stock with FSSS is well worth the performance gains due to its overclock ability and the fact that it is a newer generation card. This card should be priced closer to $160 then it would be a slick deal not at its current price. Wait another month or so and these cards (6950s) will be dirt cheap. The only reason I can see to purchase this card is if you already have a 6950 and want to crossfire it.

Anyone know this compares to the Sapphire 6950? This card was on sale like a week ago too

I've had good luck with New Egg online chat reps, possibly because I've spent so much $ there over the years. If you explain that you want to get a more expensive item they are usually willing to waive it.

I really wanna update my graphics cards but I'm not sure if this would be a worthy upgrade or not. Right now i have two GTX 550 TI graphics cards in SLI. My motherboard only Supports Nvidia SLI so i wouldn't be able to add another 6950 later on. What do you guys think i should do?

You could probably save $30 in electricity within the first year of ownership alone considering the ridiculously low power draw of the 7850.

Your link is for the wrong cards -- you have a 6870 instead of the 7970

And while I think this is a very good buy on a decent card I am in the position I can wait for a better deal and probably will. If you need a card right now though this is definitely worthy of your consideration.
