Expired (TigerDirect increased the price/Amazon OoS).
LG 55LM8600 55" Class LED Cinema 3D HDTV - 1080p, 1920 x 1080, 16:9, TruMotion 240Hz, 9000000:1 Dynamic, HDMI, USB, Wi-Fi, Smart Energy Saving, Intelligent Sensor, Smart TV, Energy Star for $1799. My first post here. Please indicate if I am violating any forum rules and I'll make corrections. TigerDirect.com has this awesome deal. Add to cart to see price. Amazon.com will price match. http://www.tigerdirect Amazon.com has it for $2203.97. Till last week it was at around $2500. I haven't seen better price than this anywhere else. Reviews are good (http://reviews.cnet.co I was able to price match with Amazon.com, but they charged $50 for shipping (even with Amazon Prime account). Don't forget to get 6 pairs of additional glasses from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-li...dition=new). Add it from seller "Amazon", else it won't be free. Tip: If you are trying to PM with Amazon, they might tell you that the TV from TD does not have 6 glasses, so they won't PM. It does have the glasses, just point it out. It needs a bit of persuasion, but it'll work. Some persuasion will be needed to get the 6 free pairs of glasses as well.

"TruMotion 240Hz- The LM6700 is the only model in the cinema screen line that doesn’t offer 240Hz motion smoothing and we consider that a good thing. We aren’t big fans artificial motion interpolation (save, perhaps for gaming) and, as a rule, turn it off during our evaluations anyway"
Pros:
* The slim bezel is nice. I was able to replace my old 50" plasma with this 55" model using about the same amount of wall space, thanks to the thin bezel.
* The power consumption and heat generation is superior to my old plasma. Nice... especially in Texas where you don't want more heat.
* Very slim TV - nice... and less weight too
* Can update itself using an Internet connection (I'm using a wired connection)
* FULL HD (1920x1080) beats my old plasma
* Lots of configuration options & settings to tweak (if you want); the "Picture Wizard" is a good place to start to adjust some basic (& important) settings.
* Six pairs of 3D glasses is a nice little bonus.
* Can play back 24 FPS film material correctly.
Cons:
* The screen viewing angles and "stability" (changes with viewing angles) are noticeably reduced from my old plasma TV (but are supposed to be "good for LCD").
* It was harder to beat the image quality of the plasma than I thought... while the image quality is good to very good, I think you have to go plasma if you want the very best. Tweaking the settings can get you closer though (though you won't be able to match the viewing angles of a plasma).
* The "magic remote" could use some improvement, though it's not all bad.
* My wife tried the Netflix app, but likes the TiVoHD Netflix interface better - especially for pausing/playing & controlling the stream... but she is very picky. I think it's decent (especially if you don't plan on pausing the stream), though definitely not the best I've used.
* Compared to the plasma I had, the 55LM6700 screen has more glare... and windows or bright lights in front of the TV could be an issue, but I've seen worse. I now see how I've taken the good anti-glare screen of my old plasma for granted.
Other:
* The "magic remote" is both "cool" and annoying at the same time. Sometimes it has a bit of a fit and doesn't do what you want... and it can fall over a lot.
* I haven't tried the 3D but I've mostly read about very good praise for it.
* If you want to tweak/calibrate, then the "Disney WOW: World of Wonder [Blu-ray]" is good. I'm still messing with the settings but think I'm getting closer to some that I like.
* I ordered my TV early May, 2012 and the unit I received was made in Feb, 2012.
* Assembled in Mexico
Conclusion:
If you want the best image quality and viewing angles, then I recommend a good plasma. For slimness, energy efficiency, and still good picture quality, then this is a nice set. I feel comfortable giving it a strong 4 stars. If this had all the benefits of good plasma image quality, then I'd probably go 5 stars.
I will update this review as I use the TV more and find more pros/cons.
if you want the best picture quality...buy a plasma
somthing I agree with 100%
Maybe try a different browser?
I just checked it in FF, Chrome, & Opera and all 3 are working for me
