Another option is to pick up some barn boards and use those.
I did this recently for a rather expensive print I ordered online and it turned out great. I just ran through the process with 34x51 as my print size and it came to $125 for a metal frame no matting and with standard plexiglass. It isn't really cheap, but it's cheaper.
I'm at work so I haven't messed around much, you can probably find a cheaper frame than the random one I picked.
