I understand to a point, but ... if you look at the amazon page, down under "Customers Who Bought This Item Also Bought" you can see there are different adapters for every possible orientation that is 90 degrees from the plug. So it strikes me if you just determine what you need beforehand, aren't you better off buying form amazon. Maybe I'm paranoid, but I suspect the connection integrity of a fixed elbow has to be better over time than one that swivels/flexes ...

This adjustable one also looks less compact (will stick out further). Sorry, just not getting it. Only makes sense to me if you don't want to figure out what you need (which direction to elbow) before you order.

I'm not saying everybody needs this adapter. I like the adjustable feature because in some of my equipment it's hard to get to the hdmi and the fact I can adjust it up or down makes it easier for me to put it on. Some people were linking to fixed 90 degree plugs and I was just letting others know that this was "adjustable" so 20 cents more. Get the one that you need. Once it's on, I like the fact that it will go downward naturally and not at 90 degree angle.

I was looking for something like this for a while. Seems like there is a hit-or-miss with the quality (regardless of the manufacturer). Check the reviews on Amazon for these things, some work, some just don't.

If I didn't have this adapter the cable would be dropping to ground once connected without any adapter used, with this adapter the cable will still be dropping to ground when it's connected, if I got 90 degree adapter it would be pointing towards back wall. Do you get how useful this adapter is for me, yet? Some of us want the adjustable connector because we don't need 90 degree angle, but because it's hard to attach the hdmi cable to the hdtv when against wall. Once it's connected I want it to use gravity and point downward because the 90 degree angle adapter would bend the cable too much , I want the flexibility. I guess others might not need it like I do.

A picture would be helpful of your use. Obviously you have a different TV setup than most of us. I have 90 degree adapters and they work great. This would be poking out too much for me to use the thin tv with the stand I was using, so in my case a 90 degree from monoprice or amazon are more ideal. Though i do understand what you are saying, but in the same time there is some concern that something that bends like this makes you wonder how long it will last. What the others are saying there is 90 degree versions and other versions at amazon that will fit mostly any scenario. Unless for some particular reason you need it to be 35 degrees or 15 degrees or whatever degrees due to your cable layout and space?

does anyone know where I can get the adapters for the 3 colored wires? I have my tv mounted on a wall and those wires are very hard to get to. I remember seeing someone mention adapters for those connectors
