I was able to secure a voucher from amazonlocal seattle even though i'm in southern california so it doesn't seem to be regionally restricted!!

Got one, now to convince myself to get a Kindle. Anyone with one can you tell me if the special offers and promotions get annoying? With Prime and the local library it would basically be $59 with a power adapter after promotion for unlimited access to books. Hmm....

Would be awesome if this worked on the Touch version as the refurbished Touch is only $5 more than the non-touch.

Was hoping for $20 off any refurb kindle and another fire refurb deal. $109 is my magic price point for one. Still patiently waiting.

Yeah in the same boat. Not sure if I'd hate not having touch capability but $49 non-touch vs. $74 touch is a no-brainer for the non-touch. Also realized I don't need the adapter and found a $5 leather case on eBay so it would be $54 for the Kindle and a case - $54 for effectively a library in my hands. I'd love it if people chimed in on Kindles!

Touch might come in handy for highlighting or dict. search as using the d-pad will take awhile getting use to but it's not too bad. I have the non touch like the one here and like it very much. It's very light, and I believe it's 2GB with wifi sync which automatically send the book to the device right after you click buy on Amazon. It does PDF quite well with zoom options, I can easily read my physics textbook on it. I haven't bought one book from amazon yet since I still try to catch up with all the free books they have been giving out.

Ads are completely harmless and only on the home screen when device is not in use. I recall though not seen lately the $5 for $10 gift cert as an ad, a 20% of laptops ad and more recently an ad for the new John Mayer album. Not annoying and possibly not noticeable if you just turn on your kindle without looking at screen.
