He's due August 16th, so I'm guessing he'd need a size 1 for this winter, but I could always save them for next winter. But would that be a size 2? How quick to baby feet grow anyway??

My daughter didn't start wearing shoes until 10ish months and started at a 3. She is 17 months now and wears mostly 4s but some 5s fit.
Age of child
newborn - 1 month should wear a size 0
1 month - 3 months old should wear a size1
3 months - 6 months old should wear a size 2
6 months - 9 months old should wear a size 3
9 months - 12 months old should wear a size 4
12 months - 18 months old should wear a size 5
18 months - 2 years old should wear a size 6

Also when you do have a walker it's important to get sized before you buy the first pair of shoes. So go to a local shoe store that sells stride rites or some other good kid shoe. Get the kid sized correctly. Then buy the shoes online for 1/2 the price.

It's so tempting to buy them, but there's no point buying them now. Babies don't really need these shoes until they know how to walk.
