The Samsung performs a lot better than these Kingston drives. I would rate the Crucial M4 as great second place contender. These Kingston drives are good entry level drives and you will still see a significant increase in speed and boot time when everything is installed and setup properly. $80 for a 128GB SSD is great price if you want to get your feet wet with SSD's.

Good deals, but personally I'm waiting for 512gb SSDs to hit below $250-300 to put in my MacBook Pro which will eventually happen with time. I have 500gb mechanical platter hdd on there now so if I got one of these I'd see a speed/access/write times Performance increase, but a decrease on overall drive capacity. Don't really want to do the cd/dvdrw drive delete & put a 2nd drive thing.. So waiting for the higher capacity drives to drop in price.

Anything Sandforce controller is a risk. If you look around the forums everyone with problems are with Sandforce chip including me. Marvell and Samsung (the only two other controllers commercially available) are the top. I would say Samsung and Crucial M4/Plextor M3 are the top3, with gold going to whatever judge you ask. If you are patient you can find any of those for under $100. (My last 4 Samsungs were $90).

I am using a 96G Kingston SSD from Amazon for over a year now. Have no problem with it at all.

Decrease in access time. Increase in battery life as well.
