The GTX 660 Ti will supposedly be released in August but I don't know how much more expensive it might be. Then again, by then maybe it will push these prices down even further. Ahh, to wait or not to wait...

On newegg the card dimensions are : 7.76" x 4.37" x 1.5"

At MSI [msi.com] the card dimensions are : 8.88" x 4.37" x 1.5"

At BBforBusiness [bestbuybusiness.com] the card dimensions are : 7.8" x 4.4" x 1.5"

...so don't know which is correct.

UPDATE:

I measured the card and the length of the card itself is ~ 7.81", but the attached fan/cooler that's on top of it sticks out a little more making it ~ 8.38".

MSI support forums can be slow sometimes in responding to technical help. Forum post from June 23 [msi.com] and still no reply; probably because he didn't follow the posting guidelines. But on the plus side most video card support threads [msi.com] are concerning their nvidia line, not as many for ati.

For contacting MSI it's better to do it this way [msi.com].

I think they had 7950 for sale ar/ac at newegg for 303 shipped about two weeks ago. I wont be surprised if the 7850 goes on for sale for 200 without rebate.

I've been eyeing this card for a SFF build.

Went ahead and pulled the trigger. I'm still using a 4850, but its near end of life and I've been waiting for a $200 7850 2GB to show up. Finally decided this was close enough.

Hopefully the rebate will come without issue.

This card makes you wonder why GTX 580's and GTX 570's are still so expensive. If you overclock this card, it can reach speeds of a GTX 580 without a sweat.

Agreed, and for less than half the price at that. Normally I'd note that comparing an OC card to a non-OC one is apples to oranges, but with such a massive price discrepancy there's absolutely a huge disparity here in value for money.

BTW, Amazon charges tax in WA

I had been skipping every other generation of ATI/AMD cards, but my 5850 is still working just fine, so I'll wait for prices to come down a bit more. Of course this also reminds me I still need to fire up Metro 2033 after which I might change my tune on the 5850 being fine for now. :p

Worth it to go from 6870 Xfire to a single 7850? Thinking of waiting for prices to drop....
