I had one from the amazon deal ($700 after $100GC) - I liked the build quality and backlit keys, but the screen was awful. Low res and bad contrast/brightness.

I don't think these are the deals. I think the deals are coming the weeks prior to Win8's release. I'm not threadcrapping on the deals - they're OK if you need a laptop now - but these are not the slick ultrabook deals we've been waiting for.

Ultrabooks are still relatively new, so hopefully they keep dropping
this is one of the better reviewed 1st gen ultrabook on engadget.
