i bought one for the heck of it last time they had this deal and I use it all of the time with my windows 8 tablet and wireless keyboard. would also make a nice stand for ipad and android tablets as well. have not used it with a laptop yet so can't comment on that but it ended up being worth it for me. using it as we speak

I got this the last time it was this price. It's nice of you don't plan to transport it. The problem is that it is so rigid and well put together that it doesn't come apart easily and therefore is hard to transport. It also doesn't fold, which would make it a much better unit. If you only use it in your home and have a place to store a bulky stand, it's nice.

+1 had this issue when I was thinking of taking it on vacation. If it folded it would have been nicer. I guess you get what you pay for in that regard

It's too large for tablets IMHO. Takes up a lot of space so be aware if space is an issue. There are better and more portable for similar $ for tablets.

For use w/a laptop - the lower lip interferes with the touchpad and touchpad mouse keys. Depending on how you type and positioning it also interferes with your wrists while typing so be aware this may be useless to you w/o a separate mouse and keyboard.

For $7 it's too hard to resist ordering.

Does this stand work if I use docking station?

I am so unclear as to what this is supposed to do for laptops - the screen is adjustable already to the correct angle, and putting the keyboard at an angle would cause a problem for your wrists and increase the likelihood of carpal tunnel.

Maybe I am missing something - what is the purpose of this stand for laptops? TIA

I have one and LOVE it. I keep it on my desk cradling my Dell Inspiron 15" laptop. My wireless keyboard and mouse sit on the pull out drawer just below the laptop.

(In the past, I always bought HP laptops and spent another $200-$300 for their expansion base. So glad I could save the money with this stand.) True, it's not really portable but if you have a laptop and an external keyboard, this is ideal! and great price too!

For me, I use it to elevate the level of the screen so I'm not scrunching my neck down to read. (I haven't gotten any taller but it helps me maintain my posture.)
