Print out a copy of the receipt and save it with the package somewhere, you'll need it if you want to exchange it for a new one if it breaks within the 5 year warranty period.
Yeah it's $3 but tools that break don't get the job done & it's a waste of gas & time to go to exchange for another cheap tool.. It will be a cycle.
I have Craftsman garden tooks from over a decade ago.. Metal or fiber glass handles that still work today. These, you're lucky if you don't get a few replacements within warranty period. I'd rather them not break in the first place even if they are covered.

The eVolv line was just a way to tack on the Craftsman name to the lower end line. They're also made to look trendy with their cardboard brown packaging and green/grey "earthy' theme.
Sears has sold out, but it's been years in the making. They've been transitioning the Craftsman line of tools to China for years, it's just recently that the American factories finally closed and the last of the USA-made tools has made it's way out of the stores.
Sucks, but hey, it's still okay to get in on some deals while Sears is still around.
I remember I needed a thinner wrench than what I had to hold the inner pin boot on a brake caliper while using a ratchet on the outer bolt. I picked up the Evolv line of combination wrenches (not marketed as thin or low profile wrenches) but they were noticeably thinner & lighter than my craftsman set from over a decade ago. Granted thinner was what I needed I woukdnt have liked this as my primary wrench set. Plus Evolv hand tools don't have lifetime warranty, only 5 years. Craftsman also carried thin profile wrenches with lifetime warranty so I went with that. I don't like repeatedly buying tools & if they break I like to be covered.
I've broken tons of harbor freight tools such that I've stopped shopping there & when the evolv deep socket deal came around, after looking at them in store I passed on the deal.
Nowadays Craftsman name doesn't mean that much in terms of sought after brand or tools or a name you can really trust especially since they've moved production to China also and the newer line of stuff is inferior. it's like those 80s bands trying to make comeback albums riding on the name they built decades ago.. Not what they used to be lol
I tend to agree... the EVOLV stuff is pretty low end. It'll get you by for a short period of time but, don't expect much more than that. This isn't a Craftsman item that will (generally) last.
