Real world experience will probably be the same for both. Sure it has a sata III port, but I've read the marvel control on it doesn't support trim and the max read is 375 mb/s and write is around 200-300. So I don't think it will be worth it. This is a good deal. The Samsung 830 and Sandisk Extreme @ $85 is also a good deal.

If you are going to dive into sequential read benchmarks, then you need to consider random 4K performance when you look at the charts.

(2) F4's will choke much sooner than any of these SSD's.

IOPS are king.

Don't believe everything you read. X58's IHC10R southbridge doesn't know whether the SSD controller is Marvell, SandForce, or other. As far as I know Windows 7 SATA III driver for IHC10R supports TRIM in AHCI mode and M4 supports TRIM. That's all that matters.
2XF4s in RAID 0 are a poor substitute for SSD since you still get killed on rotational seek times.

Well I looked into it, asus never confirmed the board supported Trim and when people tested speeds on my board everyone got the same results. It is indeed a Marvell chip controlling the two sata III ports on my x58 sabertooth, the other 6 are intel. (sata 2)

I love the drive just want to throw this out there

My pc has crashed about 10 times BSOD , (updated firmware).
My Intel 520, which I have not updated anything since I bought it, has not crashed one single time.
I've had both SSD's for the same amount of time.
