id get if the kenneth cole letter wasnt embedded on the bag.

I have had this bad for over 6 years now. Its good quality. My only issue is/was with the side straps. The flimsy buckles would come out of the hooks and twice I had the bag come apart and fall....once I had my laptop in it and the drop was not too hard....the second time the bag was fairly empty except for some pt charts and it just came apart from the other end and fell into water.

The leather itself, its not high end, but does look good and its very durable. But the straps, man they piss me off. It had come apart other times and towards the end, I just used clear tape to secure the clamps. I kept going on with this bag since it was very business like and I'm too paranoid to use my other more higher end bags at work.

Hope this helps for others. The inside pockets are good, it held a 15" laptop, charger, mouse and documents with ease. The inside is not padded specifically for a laptop.

As much as I want to like this deal, I think it's worthwhile to spend some extra money on a nice leather briefcase/bag that'll last you forever. Something like Saddleback Leather. This bag just looks cheap and flimsy.

I have this bag too for a few months now. good bad! I just tried to scratch it with my nail and nothing showed so i don't know what other are talking about in terms of the leather. The bag is good for laptops and such, nothing more than that (I tend to bring shorts, a tank, and vibrams all super thin items and that barely fits. as someone else said the top expands more than the bottom. All in all good clean bag, classy, simple and functional. no fashion statement here but it's a man's bag, but that's me. good deal!

that some extra money, did you mean $500-$600 which is 10X the price of this one? I'm sure with all that much of money, i'd rather spend on 10 different new briefcase during my lifetime instead

It's all about value, not price. Personally, I'd rather pay for quality than pinch pennies over worthless crap that'll break easily. It's like the difference between buying nice shoes and cheap ones. You can buy 5x as many cheap shoes, but they fall apart 5x faster, and during that time, they'll be much less comfortable and attractive. Save other places so you can splurge where it counts.
