32GB Sony Tablet S 9.4" w/ Android 3.1 (SGPT112US/S) + Cradle $265 (expired)

Got one. It's 9.4"/32GB plus full size SD slot. This one includes the Cradle. The remote IR got to me. Will delay Nexus 7 or Kindle Fire 2 purchase 'til Xmas, not that I need another tablet/laptop.

Pretty decent reviews from Amazon. The 1/2 stars reviews didn't change my mind.

Wondering if it is easy to upgrade to latest OS.

it's actually a decent tablet when it came out, but doesn't look like it has GPS. And with the nexus 7 the game has changed significantly.

best price i've seen for a 32GB and NEW. no doubt that it's one of the better tablets out there. and for this size of 32 GB + available slot for up to an additional 32 GB i'd say the +$50 is worth it compared other tablets. woot says it's upgradeable to 4.0 ice cream sandwich, but yeah idk how easy it'd be. i figure you js DL it just like any other software update??

anyone have experience in DLing their android tablet software to more current ones?

yeah i'm not too big on the cloud server stuff quite yet and would prefer to have my storage live. with only 16 GB max on the nexus 7, i'd go with this 64 GB max and store/transfer movies on & off.

i'd imagine it'd take quite a long time to sync a couple gigs of data even across wifi.

Did it on my Skyrocket from Android 2.3 to ICS. Best to backup settings as it wiped out everything, but then it's not like you can restore them in 4.0

Hmm trying to figure out if it's a good replacement for HP Touchpad with ICS, but I think this has slower CPU?

SD is only for file exchange in Honeycomb, but good to run from in ICS it looks like. Sony is good at putting out updates for phones and tablets, but the company isn't doing so well profitwise.

Save your money for the new Sony tablet (Xperia Tablet?). Google it, it looks pretty impressive. Has splash resistance, some awesome material lol, cool Smart Cover like accessory but with keyboard (kind of like Surface) and of course runs the usual Tegra 3 processor.

according to this article [cnet.com] an improved 32gb version should sell for about $549

Have this tablet, pretty decent especially consider this price.

It is upgraded to 4.0 ICS, no trick there, all you need is 1 click to say yes to upgrade, and it'll upgrade over the air.

If I hadn't just returned my Toshiba thrive I'd be all over this. You can use this as a remote, compatible with dualshock, 32 gb on board, ICS, and NEW. Too bad I learned the hard way that I don't need a tablet AND a smartphone haha

I'm confused now,was planning to buy nexus 7 next week,now this showed up brand new 32gb,sd slot,hdmi...but Tegra 2...i think im going with nexus...just for having Tegra 3 onboard
