32GB Sony Tablet S 9.4" w/ Android 3.1 (SGPT112US/S) + Cradle $265 (expired)

I'm confused now,was planning to buy nexus 7 next week,now this showed up brand new 32gb,sd slot,hdmi...but Tegra 2...i think im going with nexus...just for having Tegra 3 onboard

it does have gps, but it sucks balls.
Sony has this thing locked down pretty tight so no rooting, not easily anyway.

With 32GB, fast expansion cards available for dime/dozen, I don't see how on-board storage makes much difference on tablet value.

I find that WiFi-N (300mbps) is actually VERY fast. It may be the fastest possible way to transfer data to a portable device. It's faster than most 10/100 Ethernet wired home networks. For 2 gigs you are looking at maybe one minute or so? Now, if you are talking about internet speed (ie. cloud storage), then I agree. But don't mistake that bottleneck for your local WiFi.

That's why you upgrade first thing out of the box in this case. I had my Skyrocket rooted with ICS on day 1. But yes, always backup before upgrading. Sometimes it will wipe external memory too so be safe and take the SD card out. As for this tablet, it's official release so upgrading is as easy as opening an app. Just touch the "upgrade" button! Honestly, I wouldn't even do a backup if it's new and unrooted. Just go for it! I've done literally hundreds and have NEVER had a problem! That's saying a lot!

I can't find where this has HDMI out. If it does, it's a good deal. But really, I am also looking for Tegra3. Nexus isn't an option for me with no expandable storage and no HDMI. And this has a really strange profile.

The profile is quite good actually since it's wedge shape is like reading a magazine in portrait. Won't slip out of your hands in landscape.
The bad news is the proprietary case is hard to find cheap. I'm very happy with mine and the stock ICS. It's snappy enough for me and I play a lot of games on it. Having the IR remote and SD slot is pretty nice. It's the only Sony product I own and only because it was a refurbed 16GB for only $170 AC. Sold my Touchpad with ICS in favor of this. I think it was in the top five tablets on Cnet.

One thing to note is a supposed wifi bug these had/have regarding the tablet dropping the wifi connection continuously. I'm unaware if this bug was fixed during the ICS update. Confirmation on this would seal the deal for me. If you do run into the bug supposedly the app "Advanced WiFi Lock" will cure this issue though it drains the battery a bit more. Amazing deal nonetheless! Thank you!

Its Tegra 2 in it duel core not quad the price is what it should be with quad core out now all tegra 2 tablets have dropped in price

Apart from ASUS Transformer series most tablet are non-gorilla Glass including "N7"
