great deal if you only care about buying new. if you're trying to sell the 55-250 to try to bring the price of the 50mm down, you might as well buy the 50mm separately because you'r enot giong to save any money.

50mm is a 'normal' field of view on a 35mm camera, but people looking at this bundle most likely own crop sensor DSLRs (Rebels/X0D). On these cameras, 50mm is like an 80mm equivalent, which is short telephoto. Good for head and shoulders portraits, but certainly not a wide angle. For wide angle on a crop DSLR you would be looking for something less than about 30mm.

The 50mm has great reviews on Amazon [amazon.com]. Good bokeh for the $100 price tag. So, if you just have a 18-55 kit lens, this package is a great addition to your arsenal.
