I Follow the steps below:
First download the DD-WRT and Tomato firmware
- DD-WRT Mini from here
- Tomato from here
1. install dd-wrtI was under the impression that when you installed the DD-WRT firmware you couldn't access the 5 GHz Band; not sure whether this is true or not.

Anyway I don't know why all routers don't have external antenas("cool" factor?). It just seems to make sense to keep the antenas as far away from the electronics as possible.
