Nier is a bit of a mind bender, one of square enix's darker titles. It's worth the $10 since the storyline was great and the music really made you feel the mood of the game.

I'm torn. I'd like to experience El Shaddai for the art, but I really, REALLY, don't want to grind through another GoW style beat em up. I couldnt even finish Lords of Shadow because it was so boring.

Dang, some good prices, but reviews seem to indicate the games are average to good, but not great. I'll pass only because I have better games from recent deal (ACII: Revelations). Thanks SlickDeals posters. I've saved a ton of money on PS3 games.

Same here. The reviews are somewhat mixed, but they sound OK overall. Reviews complain about poor previous generation graphics but the pictures and gameplay videos I've seen look OK. It's always so hard to decide between the PS3 and Xbox 360 version of any title, and there are no head-to-head reviews for these. Google searches seem to indicate either version would be OK.

I just bought El Shaddai for $10 at Best Buy for the Xbox 360, but I think I'm going to keep the Xbox 360 version over the PS3 version with the only difference being sales tax. The 1 head-to-head review of El Shaddai says Xbox 360 has better/sharper graphics but the PS3's framerate is a little more stable.

Neir is AWESOME...also, good to note that Neir on PS3 and 360 are different, they have most of the same story, but different main characters, one is young, one is old. One of the characters is a girl and the other a boy. The game is awesome. Played the 360 version through and loved it. Unlike any game you have every played. Damn shame they shut down the studio.

That being said, I grabbed El Shaddai because it looks gorgeous and I want to see it on the projector. May grab Neir too now that I just rambled on about the differences ha ha

I didn't know any of what you said about Nier as I didn't read deeply into the story in the reviews. So which version (PS3 or Xbox 360) of Nier has the better main characters? It seems playing a young character would be better than an old one. Hopefully the PS3 one (which is the one on sale) is the best one to get.

Nvm: It's Gestalt, where Replicant is Japanese Only PS3 version.

There aren't any differences between the US PS3 and 360 versions. The one with the younger Nier was released in Japan. In the US version, Yonah is Nier's daughter, and in the Japanese version she's his sister.

But you're right, the game is awesome, easily one of the best and most underrated games this console gen. Def. grab a copy if you haven't played it.
