Microphonics is the term for what I was describing. It is a problem with almost all of in-ear headphones, but it doesn't bother some people as much as others. It just happens to bother me more than others.

I know they're more expensive, but I've always been a huge fan of Shure earphones, and the SE210 or SE215 with foam tips blow away stuff like this in my opinion, even though they run about $100.
